Classism in america is a "living era of a slave wage and debt slavery system constructed by industrial system and predatory institutions" which puts a margin on the working class and only favors the wealthy-
Charles Sullivan |
In the world with classim "wealthy people have always enjoyed advantages that working people have not" in america, which means that the richer have choice to do every thing they can possible that the working class has no chance of doing.
Charles Sullivan |
In todays society we live in a land of "immense opportunity" and american's are fortunate to be one of "ruling class".
Charles Sullivan |
In america, we are all suppose to be equal but "America was not established a true democracy", due to the fact of having the right to vote.
Charles Sullivan |
Charles Sullivan cites that classism is to "subjugate and marginalize the world's working people" and the rich has the greater opportunities.

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):
Charles Sullivan focused his topic on how classism is in America and the many different types there are. He goes on and cites that the upper class has a much bigger advantage than the working class and how the upper class gets to experience what the working class cannot. The writer goes on to explain how we can make a difference in today's society.
Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?
The author is Charles Sullivan is the man who wrote this article, he is a furniture maker, photographer and a activist living in the eastern pan handle in West Virginia.
Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?
The author gives us simple steps to take to show that we have the power to get rid of classism.
Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?
In this article it favors the negative about classism because classism does not really have a positive side.
References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?
The author cites that we follow his steps to out source classism in america. It adds to credibility because if people may follow classism may be outlawed.
Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?
I plan to use this source to show students that classism is wrong and everyone is equal in america even though some people will make more money than others. Classism can also do with the economy we have today, racism, and unemployment and even the lack of respect of the elderly.
